From February 5th thru 7th, the pirate band Mizzen will be renting a cabin in Pollack Pines, California to write and record new music. (Pollack Pines is approximately halfway between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe.) The purpose of this event is to hold a bachelor’s party for Red Beard with some of his closest friends. The goal is to drink heavily, play video games, and record the best pirate songs ever imagined. It is possible nothing productive may stem from this event; however, the band is looking forward to at least having fun.

Recently we posted several of our older cartoons on YouTube. Many may wonder why we hadn’t already done this, but rest assured knowing its something we wanted to do a long time ago.
Although we do like our original content displayed only on Seabeaver.net (and we want the visitors and hits), we also feel YouTube is a great way to reach out to people who may not otherwise see (or know of) our site.
The problem is that we always had technical issues when trying to upload our Flash files into YouTube’s system. Again, until recently we’ve only been using an old version of Flash. It wasn’t until we received the new system that our files could finally be imported into YouTube.
So, even though we’ve been slacking and have yet to produce our Halloween cartoon for you–you can enjoy lots of our older episodes via YouTube while you wait. Please go to the site and forward all of the episodes to your friends, or post them on other sites. We would like people to rate the cartoons as well. Have fun sharing them!
Blackbeard! Yes, Blackbeard. The famous historical pirate who would lite fuses in his beard and run around like a lunatic. After a month of systematic elmination, we finally learn that Blackbeard truly is the greatest pirate ever. (And this is hard-core scientific polling, so this is a fact and can never be disputed.)
To the victor goes the spoils.
The Seabeaver would like to congratulate Blackbeard on his victory, and are placing him in the Hall of Great Pirates. Next season, a new batch of pirates will face off in the 16 Pirate Elimination deathmatch. The winner of that season will have the opportunity to challenge Blackbeard for the #1 Greatest Pirate Ever title.
But, let’s be honest. Blackbeard will most likely make that pirate his bitch.

We are officially down to the final four. From the real pirate side, we have a very interesting match between Blackbeard and Anne Bonnie. On the right, we have a toss-up between the Dread Pirate Roberts and Captain Blood.

How many times has this happened to you: You’re in a conversation with one of your closest friends, and they mention that such-and-such a pirate was the best pirate ever. Clearly they are retarded, because you just so happen to know that your favorite pirate was the best pirate ever. After a few harsh words, you both end up attacking each other with miniature toy action figures and both end up bloodied. Well, you can finally put those bandages away, because The Seabeaver now brings to you the very first (that we know of) pirate playoff bracket.

That’s right. With a little help from the pirate community and fans, we are determined to finally get it right once and for all–Which pirate triumphs over the others?

Yar maties! Just to let you know, things are a bit crazy here in Sacramento. It has been a big desire of mine to pursue making more pirate cartoons and songs for you, but certain obstacles keep getting in the way. Recently, I (Red Beard) have had the great fortune of being able to purchase my first home. It is within a mile of my current residence. With this great joy comes lots of responsibility–in particular, it means I’ve become more distracted from my job (Seabeaver / Mizzen).
Understand, this is only a temporary issue. Soon I expect to be completely stationed in my new residence with a fully operating office /studio. New cartoons are expected soon, as we have just received notice that our new Flash program is on its way within days. We’re even hoping to have Seabeaver’s first “Halloween” episode in the works…
That’s right! The Seabeaver is finally moving into the Big Leagues. After several years of using an old, old version of Flash, we are finally upgrading to Adobe Flash and Illustrator CS4. Our next cartoon will hopefully be benefiting from these new tools…
Long time, no see! Well, I guess “no see” only pertains to those pirates who got their eyeballs gouged out by wooden splinters from a recent cannon attack… But, I digress.
The crew and I are happy to announce that we have a new cartoon up and running for you! It’s called, “The Other First Mate” and you can see it here.
